My Very Own Magic Wand

Guess what.

Go on, guess.

YOU'RE WRONG. (Well, I suppose you could be right, but you're probably not.)

I actually finished reading Great Gatsby this morning!
Isn't that exciting? It made me happy because now I only need to read the first chapter of Walden and I'll have completed my required summer reading. That might sound like a pretty simple task; it's only the first chapter right? Well technically, yes, but it's 65 pages long. UGH. The worst part is that it's not even a story- it's philosophy.

So, I you can't really blame me for not wanting to read right now. But my English teacher can blame me if I fail the test we're going to have on the first day of school, which is on Monday. Which means I really do need to finish those 65 pages by Sunday night... or Monday morning... or the period before I have English. Just kidding! I'm not that much of a procrastinator, or at least I won't be this time. (I hope.)

Alright, enough of my summer reading; it's really not that exciting.

The only thing is, I really don't have anything very exciting to tell you all today. Ha. "You all"... I'm not even sure if that's an accurate description of how many people read this thing. That is probably more fitting for someone with at least twenty readers. Maybe.

Anyway, I guess I'll tell you about my new curler. My mother and my sister went to the store today because my sister needed some stuff for school and a new straightener. Well, they returned home with one of those curling wands for my sister and I to share! This got me pretty excited because I have quite a lot of hair (think horse tail) and it usually takes me like two hours, sometime three, to curl my hair. But I had been told by many people that with this wand thing you only had to hold your hair to the heat for approximately twenty seconds. Of course, I sort of thought that was too good to be true, but somewhere in the back of my brain I sincerely hoped that it would work. Well today, that little part of my noggin got what it wished for! This wand really is magical!

Yep, that's right; today I successfully curled my hair in thirty minutes! Look out world, this girl is going to be curling her hair A LOT. Normally I just straighten it, but now I can actually have some variation in my hairstyle, which will be nice. Plus, I actually like my hair curly more than I like it straight (probably because we always want what we can't have), but now, I CAN have what I want! It's fantastic.

Well, I'd love to continue talking about my hair, but those 65 pages aren't going to read themselves! Wish me luck! Hopefully I won't fall asleep...
